Having proudly proclaimed last week that we were making great strides in sourcing another Club horse - todays news is not so hot!! Unfortunately we were messed about a bit with the one we thought we had secured, and although the vet was booked on a flight to go and give it the once over, he didn't travel. So - the search continues!! Mr Maynard didn't travel to Market Rasen last week, but does have 2 entries in Uttoxeter on Thursday, and the ground looks like it will stay in his favour. It looks as though we will get a good crowd for the Cricket match - remember it is on June 27th, and will 'kick off' at 6.00pm - Bar and Hog roast - so try and get a driver!! Having moaned like mad last week about Maypole Lass getting put up a further 5lbs, while out in the field on holiday, I may have to eat my words!! The winner of her last race, yesterday won a novice in Newton Abbot, with a penalty, and looks to have run right up to her new mark. Although the race was run in a crawl, and posted by far the slowest time of the day, perhaps ML is worth her new mark of 110- time will tell. What will help her is a wind op, and she is booked in to have one on June 18th. Chasing remains a strong possibility in the autumn
