We had a terrific morning to parade our new boy, Cloonacool on Saturday. There was not a cloud in the sky, and it was a pleasure to welcome some new faces to the yard. Some came to see there pal Dawn Commander, who is currently having a few weeks off games, and will be prepared for an Autumn campaign when there are more options for him now that he is rated 142!! He looked very relaxed out in the field with lay mate Kiftsgate. After spending a bit of time with him, it was all aboard the Fences Flyer, and off to the top of the hill! Stuart arranged a slightly different mode of transport - hitching up the tractor to the yard trailer, and putting as few bales of shavings in for seats - it worked well - everyone had a fun trip up to the top of the gallops in the air conditioned trailer! Once at the top, Alice gave Cloonacool a trot and a canter past. He looks just the ticket, very sensible with a good attitude and a very athletic stride! Everyone was able to get some lovely photos of him, and then it was back down to the yard, where after a wash off, he posed for photos again!! He is quite the model!! Later, JD Moore popped in to see him on his way to Ascot, JD had brokered the deal for us in Ireland, and popped in to see how we were finding Cloonacool, who by now had earned the stable name of George - which I believe has something to do with him being good looking, and having a name very similar to Clooney!!! So Girls - this is your chance to get a piece of George Clooney!!! Shares are £650 each - plus £20/week all inclusive training/keep fee. I must point out that when Cloonacool comes into work after a couple of weeks holiday. His purchase price will go up by £20/week to cover the costs incurred, and also keep everyone on an equal footing so get in now to avoid disappointment - there are only a handful of shares left!!! Mrs Robeson was not present on Saturday, as she had gone down to Ascot to watch Hillstar in the Hardwick at the Royal Meeting. Hillstar got a bad passage and was second, although I doubt he would have beaten stablemate Telescope anyway. Mrs Robesons Waila was also second yesterday in Pontefract, having been set a lot to do from the bottom of the straight! A couple of near misses!!
