Tuesday 15 July
Last night was the night for moving shares!! Every email and phone call (except one from a holidaying Stuart) was to confirm the purchase of a share - arrange payment - or pencil in a visit to see the horses we have shares for sale in!! All in all a good night. I had great pleasure in showing Steve Newland and his son Jack around Fences Farm on Saturday, and I am pleased to say that we will see much more of him - Steve has purchased a 1/4 share in San Telm. Steve is new to ownership, but very much enjoys his days at the races and has been considering ownership for a while. We are delighted he chose us, and San Telm to kick it off. ST is a great way to start in ownership, although he is 9, he is lightly raced, but is 100% sound and has a decent level of ability that will take his owners to some really nice places next winter. He goes on ground ranging from good right through to heavy, and will be aimed at the Pertemps Hurdle series this winter, with hopefully a spin around Cheltenham in March on the cards if we get it right and have a bit of luck!! There is still a share for sale in him!! We welcome Steve to NBR and wish him all the luck with San Telm, one thing is for sure, along with Jack he will get a trot out in the NBR XI v Eversholt XI fixture next year, as both enjoy their cricket!! Along with Steve purchasing a share in San Telm we had Bill and Judith Bayes purchase a share in Cloonacool. Bill and Judith have a share in Dawn Commander, and saw Cloonacool when we cantered him past some owners a few weeks ago. They liked what they saw and have agreed to have a share in him. Hopefully he will be as lucky as DC for them. It looks as though we could well have another share in Cloonacool gone today as well!! We have also lined up a visit in the future, for two new owners to Fences Farm to come and have a look at Native Princess when she returns from her holiday and pre training, probably in a couple of months. She went to Jamie Goss's over the weekend. With the Selfie being all the range - Yesterday Charlie Garratt decided to take one of himself and Smart Exit, who is currently on holiday at his Grandma's - nice one Chaz - just not sure who is the better looking???
