Monday 12 January
A good enough days racing on Friday. Reyno kicked things off in the opener, and he ran a career best - Travelling well out wide, he hit the front turning in, only to be overhauled in the straight. A good third, and one that proves that he can do it. Everyone that has seen him work will testify that he has plenty of ability, but as yet he has been slightly reluctant to show us it on the racecourse - hopefully he has turned the corner. Inca Dove next up, she finds it very difficult to jump out of the deep ground, which has affected her mentally. Her pulled up effort means she will head off for another career. Paddy The Deejay in the bumper, looked a picture in the paddock, but ran a bit too free in the early stages. He lead them all a merry dance before tiring in the last 2 furlongs on the deep ground. Ridden with a bit of cover over hurdles he will be seen to much better effect and looks like a lovely prospect. Josh was very happy with him. Smart Exit is entered in Chepstow on Friday. He gave everyone a scare last Friday when he was lame after work, but the farrier found a foot abscess, and after some hard graft tubbing him repeatedly, he was sound on Saturday and should be none the worse - all plans in tact! We continue the search for horses - with a couple taking the eye - there is also a sale in Cheltenham at the end of the month, so if anyone would like me to find them a nice horse for the rest of this season and beyond then please let me know.
