Thursday 29 January
Stuart saddles his first runner this afternoon, when Paddy The Deejay takes his place in, what looks like, a very warm bumper in Towcester. Stuart, as many know had been Renee Robesons right hand man for the past 30 plus years until her sad passing a couple of weeks ago. It was always the plan for him to take over the reins, at the end of this month anyway, but things were brought forward due to the unfortunate circumstances. Stuart has served his apprenticeship, and has had a massive input into the training of the team for the past few years, so I am sure that he will make a very good job of training, with plenty more winners to come out of Fences Farm in his name. We will continue to back him to the hilt, with more, quality horses, and some more syndicates and partnerships that we will be putting together over the spring and summer ready for next season. It would be lovely for him to start of with a winner at his local track today, but that may be a tough ask, in what looks like the hottest bumper run at Towcester for many a year! Paddy The Deejay is a very talented horse, who was far too keen in Huntingdon and not seen to is best - he will hopefully drop the bridle a bit today and run well, but my spies tell me quite a few of these have a big future, so it could be a big ask! I other news - Native Princess was checked over by the vet earlier this week, and is spending a few minutes every day on the walker. She has come back sound again, and they will monitor her progress. San Telm is in fine form and doing plenty of cantering with no ill effects - he should be back on track soon - I can't wait to see this gorgeous little chap back running again - he gives you his all!! There is still a 1/4 share available in him for just £2,500 - have a peak at him on the For Sale page and get in touch - he doesn't have much mileage!!
