Friday 20 February

In the end the decision was taken out of our hands - with Warwick off, Benefit Cut will not be running. In actual fct the decision not to run had been made before Warwick abandoned - running on heavy ground was not the way to go, after a short break. BC will be entered in Newbury next weekend, as will all those that didn't get to run today - so that will be a competitive heat!! Bonellis Warbler would have made her debut in the bumper today if the meeting had survived. She does have an entry in a newcomers bumper in Southwell on Sunday. We will find out this morning when the new boy - Bold Conquest will arrive from Ireland. I think we are very lucky to have secured him for the price we did, and feel that he is incredibly good value - Just £650 per share, and a mere £25/week all inclusive training fee. He has a gorgeous action, and looks sure to improve for the switch to a sounder surface on this side of the Irish Sea. His best form is all away from very deep ground, which is the norm over there. For this reason, the plan is to run him through the summer, where he will be contesting som of the better races. He will revert to hurdles until after May 1st to protect his novice chase status for next season. please call me on 07909 518902, or email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk to discuss him further.
