Three hardy souls braved the ultra chilly winds at the top of the hill yesterday morning. It was a really 'lazy' wind - it seemed to go through you rather than around!! It really was cold!! First lot, Paddy The Deejay worked with Reyno, and did a super piece of work. He had his 'plumbing' removed on Thursday, and seems in great order - really full of himself! He will be aimed at a Novice hurdle in Sandown early next month. San Telm did 2 canters first lot, and also seems in great form! After Breakfast Bob Graham and Charlotte Groom saw Smart Exit breeze nicely. SE was due to run in Plumpton tomorrow, but he will now head to Chepstow on March 7th. He will have a massage this week. Bob and Charlotte were joined by John Bird, and the three also have shares in Dawn Commander who did 2 canters, and seems to be in fantastic form! Also in second lot were Benefit Cut who worked solidly alongside the very impressive Maypole Lass. ML appears to be in fantastic form, and he work yesterday may have earned her a speculative entry in the Listed 3 mile Mares Novice hurdle in Doncaster next weekend. BC will be entered in both Newbury and Doncaster next weekend. Pine Warbler ran Ok for a long way yesterday, before wis lack of experience, and a slight wind problem caught him out - today it is the turn of his younger half sister Bonellis Warbler, who makes her debut in a Southwell bumper, the same may apply to her. As always with Mr Down - it is a thoroughly absorbing piece of journalism!! New addition Bold Conquest arrives at Fences Farm early Tuesday morning, and we are looking forward to running him.
