Tomorrow Benefit Cut gets the services of the (will be) 20 times Champion jockey AP McCoy in Doncaster. With all of his regular riders in Newbury, we enquired with The Champs agent, Dave Roberts if he was available, and yesterday afternoon AP agreed to ride him. Very nice to get him on board for owners Howard and Terence before he retires, although he may cramp their horses odds slightly. It will be AP's final ride in Doncaster - so the pressure's on!! Also making the trip is Maypole Lass who runs in the Listed Mares Novice Hurdle. ML will be very much suited by the quick ground up there, as she cant have it fast enough, and 4 of the other 5 mares in the race look to have their best form on very deep ground. So after a long chat with her very sporting owner Ben Turner - we decided to have a crack at getting her some Black Type. Dawn Commander is walking out sound this morning, although he is showing a few scratches (some a bit worse than that) from his self harming incident yesterday, he shouldn't be held up for too long! Two owners in this morning to see the new boy Bold Conquest, and they both left with shares! Once again BC looked fantastic in the morning sunshine, and really catches the eye when you see him move!
