Wednesday 4 March
The form of Cloonacool just gets better and better. It was great to see Cardinal Walter frank his form at the weekend. Thos horse had finished 5 3/4 lengths ahead of Cloonacool in Newbury, but had carried 4lbs less than our boy. On Saturday he ran away with another novice hurdle in Doncaster by 15 lengths - and looked a very nice horse. In the Racing Post on Monday, his jockey Andrew Tinkler was asked to highlight a horse that had caught his eye away from the big guns - and his response was - 'Cardinal Walter. I've been lucky to have won on him twice at Doncaster this season, but on Saturday he felt very smart. He was very keen but sustained a strong gallop with some good jumping and won doing handstands. The only horse to beat him over hurdles is Qewy, trained by John Ferguson, whose form looks very strong now' So Tinks likes him - and why not - he looks very good, and the form puts our boy right in the mix with him - so roll on next season!! It is good to know that the staff at the yard are good judges. They loved Benefit Cut when he arrived, raved about Dawn Commander, and felt the same about Cloonacool. All three have gone on to prove themselves to be very talented animals. Jo, who rides new boy Bold Conquest feels that he is in the same bracket!! She is tough to budge off of him, and rates him very highly. We sold another share in him yesterday - so if you are interested in owning a share (remember he will be running within the month, and will continue on all through the summer!! - then please get in touch quickly. Although if you are a spurious firm, who claim to be bookmakers, with 'stalls' at Plumpton Windsor and Ascot, but don't actually know anything about racing, and are unknown to the people you claim to own horses with, please do not call again. Oh and I did google you, and it was no surprise to find to web presence for this so-called bookmaker on the web!! (Rant Over)!!
