Monday 30 March

Monday morning - and time for a round up of how things are, sorry to say it has been a very lean time for our syndicate members - with most of the horses heading off for early baths over the course of the last few weeks. San Telm has had his season curtailed due to some pain to the rear of his knee - the vets have been very thorough with him, and fully expect him to be 100% for next season. Smart Exit followed him on Saturday - when it was decided to rough him off for the summer as well. He needs a few weeks of good rest, and a nice spell on the grass, but again he will come back next season refreshed and ready to go again. We all know that Cloonacool is also done for the time being, but he has done very well for us winning 3 from 6 and is a smashing horse to look forward to over the summer. Native Princes has been on the sidelines for some time - but there is a more positive report on her - she has resumed ridden work today, and will now carry on, with a view to running her in mares races over the summer. Dawn Commander, who as we know, always seems to find a way of forcing them to give him an easy time, is, I am pleased to say in good form - and although I am loathed to say it - he is still on course to return in Aintree next week. Bold Conquest worked well on Saturday, and will have entries in Market Rasen (6th) and Fontwell (10th). With regards to other horses - Benefit Cut runs in Warwick this afternoon - it is just about the strongest race he has ever contested. He will be sporting the hood for the first time this afternoon to see if it helps him to settle a bit better. Maypole Lass will be declared for Huntingdon tomorrow, and we will all be hoping and wishing that the track misses the forecast rain!
