Benefit Cut ran a super race to be third in Warwick yesterday. The £25,000 chase was the feature race of the day, and Benny ran a cracker. Sporting a first time hood he was held up off a furious early gallop, and was still slightly keen over the first few, but he soon found his stride and although off of the bridle at the foot of the hill, stayed on really well to be third. He never has been the fastest of horses, and is really bred to need 3m plus - Paddy said yesterday that if only he would drop the bridle, relax and let himself settle he would be running away with a race like that - he just does a little too much in his races! The time of the race was very impressive! Benny seems fine this morning, and is having a windy day off in the field. Bold Conquest has an entry in Market Rasen on Monday. He will also have an entry in Fontwell on the 10th, and we will look at opposition and ground before deciding where he goes. Kayla and Ereyna have entries on Monday in Fakenham. Looking forward to Kayla - she seems to have come on from her debut run at the same track.
