Thursday 7 May
A quick trip to Fences Farm this morning to see a couple of NBR members, and to watch Bold Conquest have a school over the chase fences under Brendan Powell. BoC was excellent, and we have the option to run over fences should that option arise. Another share taken in Bold Conquest yesterday - so if you want to join in you will have to be quick (07909 518902).Brendan also gave Benefit Cut a quick pop up the big fence and the open ditch a couple of times, and again he was his usual foot perfect self. The third one to have a pop was Maypole Lass who went up the baby fences twice under Alice - she took to it really well, and is another who has the option of jumping the bigger obstacles should it be required - there was not a bother on her and she was very good. Dawn Commander had his plates fitted, ready for action on Saturday. The ground up in Haydock is currently Good to Soft, Soft in places, but they are forecast rain on Friday night. He will be declared, and the intention is to run come what may as there are just no other options for him off of 142. Christmas Twenty had his shoes removed this morning, and will join his new mates in the summer field later today. He will remain on holiday now until the middle of June when he will be back in to begin his career under rules. Native Princess is on good terms with herself and will be ready to run in just a few weeks. Stuart is very happy with her.
