No... Not a Daily Mirror headline - detailing what the new Government have in store for the folks of Liverpool - more a case of Benefit Cut running in Aintree tomorrow! BC is declared in the 7.40, a decent looking 3m 1f handicap chase. This will be a step into the unknown trip wise for him, but from the very first day he worked at home, and after studying his pedigree we have said he is a 3 miler. It is just that in the past, his natural exuberance has meant he has got away with things over shorter distances, which this year has meant he has struggled against hardened pros. The application of the hood has resulted in him settling much better, and so now is the time to try him, at what looks like his ideal trip! BC is in great form, and Brendan rides. If he proves tomorrow that he stays, then this will open up the opportunity to have a crack at some fancy prizes through the summer. Dawn Commander is entered in Warwick next Wednesday - he has come out of Haydock well, and if the ground is suitable, he will head there. Maypole Lass is in line to go to Uttoxeter on Saturday evening. Bold Conquest is also in at Stratford on Sunday afternoon. Every year we have an owners get together, and a game of cricket - kindly hosted by Eversholt CC. This years match is scheduled for Friday June 26th. There will be the usual hog roast, and hopefully this year we will get a game of cricket in - as the weather has intervened in the last couple. All are welcome, and please let me know if you would like a game - I will be looking for players for the NBR XI as usual!! All proceeds from the hog roast will be going to The Injured Jockeys Fund.
