Sunday 16 August

Another glorious morning on top of the hill yesterday, and we saw some really nice horses going about their business. First lot, Christmas Twenty did just one canter - he is very fit and well, and Stuart has just put the brakes on him for a day or two. CT will be heading for a bumper in Southwell on September 2, and is looks to be a lovely prospect. The two who worked, and worked well, were Native Princess and new boy, Wolf Of Windlesham. NP is fit and well, and is being aimed at Fontwell a week on Tuesday. WOW arrived last week, and has been purchased by Michael Lawrence, who had Justazippy at Fences Farm a couple of years ago. WOW caught the eye yesterday, and did a pleasing piece of work - he will have a spin on the flat in the next couple of weeks. After breakfast we were joined by Colin and Jane, and Luke Jade and Paige. All were on their way for an afternoon at the sports in Newmarket, but popped in to see their horse Cloonacool do a faster piece of work. Cloonacool worked really well alongside Reyno, with Kayla also working well tucked in behind. Third lot San Telm cantered with a work mate and went really well - he is in top form! Savingforvegas is doing her work on the walker and is looking fantastic. Dawn Commander is back out in the field, and Smart Exit is cantering nicely. The overriding feeling when you watch the horses go about their business in the mornings is that there is a really decent team of young horses assembled at Fences Farm, and this could be a really good season, with plenty of winners! All dreams intact!!
