Thursday 28 January
It's all going on! A long day in Doncaster yesterday, with Native Princess having her turn around the ring at gone 6.00pm. She was for sale as a broodmare after suffering an injury in October. As she is from a superb family, and had won both a bumper and a hurdle it was decided to sell her rather than chance running her again. She went yesterday with a slightly ambitious reserve, but showed herself beautifully through the day. She was consigned from Louise Kemble's Elms Stud near Northampton, and her and her team did a fantastic job with her. NP just failed to make her reserve in the ring, but 2 men liked what they saw and came to see me afterwards, and we managed to put deal together after the sale. She heads out to County Waterford, and will visit Presenting this spring. We wish her new connections the very best of luck with her, and we will follow her progeny with interest! Today Smart Exit and Savingforvegas head to Warwick - both have decent each way chances. Tomorrow San Telm goes to Doncaster. The trip and ground are ideal for him - and having secured the services of Charlie Deutsch, (and his 5lb claim) this morning, he now has to go to Huntingdon for his boss Venetia Williams, so we will have Josh Moore back on board instead. Cloonacool will not run in Doncaster on Saturday - as his scope wasn't 100% yesterday, he will have a week or so on the easy list, and be back on the road in the middle of February. He has to be on his A Game wherever he goes as we don't have anything to spare with him.
