Friday 19 February

No joy at the Tattersalls Ireland Sales in Cheltenham yesterday. Only a few suitable targets, and they either went just above budget, or there were niggles with them that looked like proving tough to deal with in the future. Racehorses are prone to developing problems anyway - without buying them from the start! The quest continues! Focusing is off to Fakenham today - we wish her connections well! Smart Exit is having a bit of back treatment today, and will have the weekend off games. He is still on course for March 12th in Chepstow. San Telm missed his first entry in Doncaster next week, as he managed to give himself a bash earlier in the week. The vet has checked him over, and he is happy - he should be back on the go by Monday. Cloonacool was electric over a few fences yesterday. He is very much on course for Kempton on Feb 27th. Also jumping a few of the bigger obstacles was Bold Conquest, who, ground permitting may have a go back over them in the Cambridgshire National early next month. Plans still intact to run Christmas Twenty over the first weekend of March - he could be in Huntingdon the same day as BC! New boy Visible Light continues to please. He will step up a gear tomorrow, in front of one of his new owners Steve Winter, who will be paying his first visit to Fences Farm tomorrow - we look forward to showing him around and introducing him and his family to everyone. Steve also has a share in Sneaking Budge, who continues to recover from his strain, the vet has bandaged him again to aid his recovery. I'm afraid his recovery will take a bit of time - but it will be complete, and he will be fine!!
