Bold Conquest will not travel to Exeter tomorrow. We have had another look at the programme book, after learning that there were a couple of potentially nicely handicapped horses heading to Devon. Although the track was ideal, it seemed a long way to go to finish third, as BC hold no secrets from the handicapper! Having gone through the programme book we have identified another likely target, and if we use our experience of last year - it could well cut up to very few runners. It is the race that we won with Dawn Commander last year in Warwick (21st). It comes after a series of very similar races over very similar trips, and by the time we get to Warwick there are fewer horses left to contend it. There has been a race in Aintree on Saturday, there is Exeter tomorrow, then there are now 2 (1 last year) similar races in Cheltenham on Weds and Thursday, which will take a lot of the horses out of the equation. The race is 3m 1f and he has run pretty well at the track before. The ground should be coming more in his favour, and it is a lot easier to get to! I am sorry to inconvenience those that had made plans to go to Exeter, but I hope you can understand the reasoning behind the decision. Had it cut up in Devon he would have gone! New boy Pull Together continues to impress, and the very best news is that Stuart believes there is a great deal of improvement to come from him, judged by what he has seen of him so far. He thinks that it is nothing short of astonishing what he has achieved on his debut, and is very much looking forward to getting going with him. Please give me a call on 07909 518902 for further details. We are having another horse looked at in Ireland today - exciting times!!
