Thursday 9 June
The day fast approaches!! Our annual cricket match at Eversholt CC. A team of NBR members and owners ( + Some), line up against an Eversholt CC XI, a top night of sport, beer and hog roast! Please remember to put the evening in your diary - Friday 24th June, at Eversholt CC, (please park at the Village Hall, and walk across to the pavilion), play starts at 6.00pm! A great fun night, and remember if you would like to play then please let me know, there is till a couple of team slots up for grabs! There will also be a couple of our jockeys there, who will only be too willing to talk to you about your horse/s. Please let me know if you are coming - so that I can get a handle on numbers, all are welcome - and it is a great evening to get to see each other during the 'off season' and chat about the last season and the plans for the next one. It would be particularly good to see the Sneaking Budge owners, who only got to the track twice last season, and many joined in the fun after his last run in Sandown - it would be a great opportunity for them to get to know each other!! Elsewhere, trade is strong at the Goffs Landrover sale in Ireland, where hundreds of unbroken 3/4 yr olds are going through the ring this week. These are the stars of the future, and they are making the sort of money that you would like to think would guarantee a decent win!! Not easy to buy, and the four that were felt to be ideal for clients went home to other buyers at values above our budget! The focus of attention turns to the Tattersalls Ireland Derby sale later this month. We have not given up on our target in France, and will continue to pursue this one over the course of the next few days - we should know where we are with him by early next week. Ereyna runs tonight in Uttoxeter - she has had 2 decent runs this summer, and Ciaran Gethings takes off a valuable 5lbs.
