Tuesday 9 August
We have a 'new' G Wagon - G standing for Gallops! This is the conveyance that will now be getting us around Fences Farm -, and will stop my car needing a valet (and not getting one) every week. Stuart is rather pleased with it!! Good to see Mark Beesley at the yard this morning. Mark writes a weekly Racing piece for the Northampton Chronicle and Echo, and also has a share in Cloonacool. He also had a share in dear old San Telm, and it was his first visit since he lost that little hero! Mark got to see Cloonacool, Pull Together, Bold Conquest all canter along with Reyno, Ereyna. They all look so well. After a cuppa, Mark and I headed off to the Elms to see the Flemensfirth filly there. She is the one on the left of the bottom photo. Mark is looking forward to seeing her progression this winter as, shall we say, he has a vested interest! About an hour after the photo at the Elms was taken, the two chesnuts were joined by a lovely big bay 3 yr old. This is te horse that was purchased for Paul Wells at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby sale. He has been broken in by Jamie Goss near Banbury since the sale. Jamie has done them for us before, and he does a great job. Now that part of his education is done he has joined the other two, and all three will head to Fences Farm in the Autumn, to start their careers proper.
