Monday 22 August
It is always a good Saturday morning at Fences Farm - and this weekend it was good to see a number of folks in to see their horses. Fran and Sheridan paid their second visit to see Molly Childers. MC had plenty of support on Saturday as two more of her owners were in as well - Claire and Bob also popped in. Bob has shares in a few with us, and got to see them all, and Claire got to see her other two as well. Matt and Sarah were also in to have a catch up, and see their boy Sneaking Budge. Second Lot, Molly Childers cantered with Focusing and one other, and is going really nicely - she has a bit of spirit, which is never a bad thing in a filly, and looks like a cracking prospect. Cloonacool also looks in fantastic form and he cantered with an equally impressive Pull Together. These two along with Reyno and Bold Conquest will up the tempo this week, with an increase in pace - they will be asked to go that little bit quicker. At the moment Cloonacool looks on course to run at the back end of September, with a crack at retaining The Listed Prelude hurdle crown he won last year on the cards. Bold Conquest could well be off to Warwick on September 20th, Pull Together will head to a bumper in late September/Early October all being well. Sneaking Budge is settling into a routine, and his four feet are spending more time on the floor than in the air!! He is now doing plenty of trotting, and it will not be long before he and Wolf Of Windlesham are cantering.
