Sunday 11 September
The first wet morning of the season - but not enough to put off several hardy souls - who turned out to see a couple of lots yesterday. Jeremy was in to see Cloonacool and Bold Conquest, and John, Tom and Ben to see Sneaking Budge and Bold Conquest. They were joined by first time visitors (you could have bought better weather)!! Dave and Pam who were down to see the yard and have a look at both Bold Conquest and Apasionado. It was also good to see Olly, who back in the mists of time had a share in Kikos, and who's partner Bev is part of the Fences Farm Team. We hadn't seen Olly for a while and it was great to see him! Who knows we may even see him back on the racecourse after yesterdays visit! Everyone got to see some really good work. Second Lot they saw Reyno work with Bold Conquest, and Cloonacool and Apasionado work in behind. All four worked really well, and they managed to take the mind off if the pouring rain we were enduring!! All the riders were delighted with them, and they are all bang on course for their runs later this month. Dave and Pam certainly liked what they saw, as they snapped up one of the two available shares in Bold Conquest straight away! We wish them the very best of luck with their cracking son of Oscar, and look forward to seeing them on the 20th. We welcome them both to NBR! I am sure it will not be the last interest they have with us!! Third lot was possibly even wetter! But it was great to see Sneaking Budge lead the string in 2 canters - SB looks in fine terms with himself! He lead Grey Warbler, her half brother Pine Warbler and Wolf Of Windlesham in the routine exercise, and did it with his ears pricked!! Stuart had left for Chester by the time that everyone arrived, but his early start was rewarded when Unzipped ran a cracking debut to be third in a decent maiden. She looks like she has a nice future. Double delight for Stuart as he oversaw the training of her dam Justazippy for Mr Lawrence as well!! With more and more people recognising the great job that Stuart and his talented and friendly team do at Fences Farm we look forward to welcoming new faces every week! Shares that are currently available are: Bold Conquest (1), £500 + £25/week all inc for 1/25th. Apasionado (3), £2700 + £185/month for 1/12th and The Unnamed 3 yr old Flemensfirth Filly (1) £3250 + £350/month for 1/6th.
