Thursday 15 September
A misty Thursday morning at the top of the hill, but not too misty that we didn't see anything - which can happen. A pleasure to show new owners Robert and Lorraine Hodges their first racehorse - Apasionado who breezed of the lot second lot with Bold Conquest and Cloonacool. All three looked in fabulous order ahead of their intended engagements next week. Having had greyhounds in the past, Robert, form Essex has an interest in his first racehorse, and we think he has chosen well!! We wish both he and Lorraine the very best of luck with Apasionado. While at the top of the gallops a phone call form an existing owner resulted in another share in Apasionado sold - so there are really very few left available now, so get in quick to avoid disappointment!! (nickbrownracing@gmail.com or 07909 518902). Remember he runs a week on Saturday - so it is really instant fun!! Bold Conquest and Cloonacool looked in great shape this morning - BC seems in rude health! Another who is on great terms with himself is Sneaking Budge, who is ripping it up - wanting to go a lot quicker than Stuart wants him to! He looks fabulous, and really is enthusiastic in his work!! Delighted to see him on such good terms with himself! Molly Childers is on the easy list until Monday after just having her wind tidied up yesterday. She is one tough girl - bouncing out of her general anesthetic as if she had just had a nap. She cam home and didn't leave an oat - so the proceedure will not hold her up too long - she will canter from Monday, and will be ready to quicken up a fortnight later. She is an exciting prospect for mares bumpers! Pull Together is back cantering after an easy week and is well.
