Monday 19 September
The week we have all been waiting for has arrived - the start of our season! Stuart has the team in rude health, and as 'The Boss' keeps saying - if they run as well as they look we will be in for a fine time of things this winter. The horses look to be in great nick, with a fabulous shine to their coats, and they are going about their work with heaps of energy and enthusiasm! We kick things off tomorrow with Bold Conquest who is declared to run in Warwick's 3.25. Brendan Powell rides, and the cheekpieces are on. BC has been working really well at home, and Stuart couldn't be more happy with him - he thinks he is as well as he has had him for a long long time! There are 3 last time out winners in the field of 10, but BC has some very strong form around Christmas, and a repeat of that will stand him in very good stead! It looks as though we will have a large turnout of owners - but 2 who can't make it unfortunately are Michael and Linda who popped into Fences Farm yesterday and purchased a share in Bob, we wish them the best of luck with him, and hope that he can get their racehorse ownership experiance off to a good start tomorrow! This morning Stuart has entered both Cloonacool and Apasionado in Market Rasen on Saturday. Cloonacool in the listed hurdle he won last year, and Apasionado in the bumper. These 2 quality horses should be in for a good season and we can't wait to get going with both.
