Yesterday, after seeing a few out at exercise at Fences Farm, Paul and I popped over to The Elms stud to see three 3 year olds that are there. The top picture is Pauls - a superb looking son of Kalanisi that was purchased at the Tattersall Ireland Derby Sale in June. This lad was broken in on his arrival by Jamie Goss near Banbury, and was then turned out at The Elms. He has developed into the most gorgeous looking horse, and as he is from a high class family - he really is an exciting prospect - I could not believe how well he has done over the summer. Also out with him is the Flemensfirth filly (bottom) that I purchased at the Goffs UK Spring Sale. Stuart broke her in and then she went out in the field - and she too has done very nicely - She is a big strong girl, with a very tough attitude, and looks to have all the attributes to be a very good racemare despite both biting and kicking me within a minute of seeing her (she is probably a good judge)! Five of the six shares are sold, so get in touch if you would klike to own a part of her! nickbrownracing@gmail.com Also out at The Elms is Top Garry. This son of Balingarry was purchased for Ben Turner out of France as a 2 yr old, and has thrived since entering the UK. Stuart broke him at 2, and had hi back in the spring for his 'secondary school' education, where he got cantering gently. He really filled his big frame, and did everything asked of him very easily - prompting Stuart to comment that he was up there with the nicest 3 yr olds that he had had over the years. All in all they are a quality bunch, and a lot to look forward to! They will start to go on the walker at the stud in a few weeks, before coming to Fences Farm when room has been made for them!!
