Friday 14 October

Apasionado made it two from two yesterday when he won a decent looking novice hurdle in some style in Uttoxeter. Having won his bumper 19 days before we went there thinking we had a nice horse, but there were at least two others in the race that looked as if they fell in that bracket as well!! In Market Rasen he was slightly buzzy at the start, so Alice came along for the day, just to be at the start to lead him around , and keep him settled, as it was he was like a lamb, so much more grown up, as Josh said he would be! He walked round at the start perfectly and when the tapes went up he jumped off and travelled like a dream - Alices afternoon was a quiet one!. A little low at the first, he learned form that, and was foot perfect the whole way round, even when in a little tight, he was clever. He settled beautifully, and when Josh ignited him between the last two flights he fair took off, quickly making up his ground and drawing away after the last for an easy 14 length win. A race that has been won by some smart types in the past, including Albertas Run and Refinement has seldom been won in that style, and lets hope he can go on from here! A 14 length win in a decent field would suggest that he should be up to winning a normal novice hurdle with a penalty - and that may well be the next logical step, before a step up in grade nearer to Christmas. Stuart reports him to be fine this morning, so we all have a lot to look forward to. Congratulations to The Tyringham Partnership, many of whom are new to our syndicates, and trusted me when I said we had a nice one!! I have been inundated with requests to purchase a share in him since he won his bumper, so please bear in mind in the future, do not hesitate - as they sell out quickly - I don't want you to miss the boat again. On that note I will be at the Tattersalls Horses In Training Sales from a week on Sunday, and will be buying a couple of 3 yr old for juvenile hurdles. Both will be syndicated, one will be a 25 strong team, with weekly fees fixed at £25, and the other will be a 4/5 strong team. We have had great success with our Juveniles in the past, with Colebrooke, Omaruru, Sneaking Budge among others, all reaching the winners circle! It is a type of horse I very much enjoy buying and syndicating as they offer instant fun, and can get syndicate members to the winners enclosure quickly, as well as offering a realistic chance of getting to some very nice meetings. If you are interested in joing in either of these 2 new partnerships then please let me know - nickbrownracing@gmail.com or 07909 518902. Photos of Apasionados win yesterday can be found at www.sdphotos.co.uk in the Uttoxeter Folder. Please try and buy one, as these guys on course do a great job - their montages are very good! We would miss them if they were not there and we had no record of our horses wins!
