Sunday 16 October
After the impressive performance of Apasionado on Thursday there was a good buzz among the folks that were at Fences Farm yesterday to see their horses. Olly was in to see Apasionado - Bob was in to see Sneaking Budge, Bold Conquest, Cloonacool and Molly Childers. Fran was in with her friend Sandra, to see both Apasionado and Molly Childers. Jeremy also popped over to see Sneaking Budge and Cloonacool. Firstly, Apasionado has come out of his race in good order, and went out for a quiet ride first lot. Bev reported him to be in fine fettle. He will be out again in 3-4 weeks. To put into perspective what he achieved in winning in Uttoxeter - last month two former winners of the Cheltenham Festival bumper fought out a 2 mile novice hurdle in Perth. Both, Like Apasionado were making their hurdling debuts, and will surely take high rank in the 2 mile novice hurdle division this season. They ran to RPR's of 130 and 129 - just 5 and 4 lbs ahead of Apasionado - he looks a nice prospect! Second lot we saw Cloonacool do a cracking piece of work - he looks in fine form, bursting through and not wanting to pull up!! Bold Conquest was also out second lot, and went really well - he too looks in great order, and had schooled really well in the week! He is on course for Chepstow a week on Tuesday. Third lot we saw a few do their first pieces of proper work right from the bottom.Molly Childers did a cracking piece of work with an older and experienced workmate who would be a very good yardstick. Molly worked very well, and should make her debut early next month - she is a nice filly! In behind these two was Sneaking Budge, who enjoys being tucked in behind two work mates. He looked to work really well, and I still can't believe how much he has changed this autumn. He is in fine form. There are a number of options of where he could make his seasonal debut and I will be able to let his owners know a definite plan when Stuart has had a look at the programme book. Pull Together went out first lot as he is just having a couple of weeks lighter work, but as the ground has been too quick to risk him it will do him no harm!! He will be back cantering in around 3 weeks. It was great to see the 3 year old filly by Flemensfirth back at Fences Farm. She has done well on her summer break, and Stuart will now crack on with her! She is a super prospect, and once again - those that have ridden her really like her! She seems to have the athleticism and pedigree to be very nice - there is just one share left in her so get in touch if you would like to be one of her 6 owners!! (For Sale Page) I am still aiming to buy a couple of horses in the next couple of weeks, and am already taking names for two new syndicates. There will be a 25 strong team to own a juvenile hurdler - with capital costs of around £500 plus £25/week training/keep fees. And there will be a 6 strong syndicate to own another Juvenile hurdler with capital costs of around £5,000 plus £350/month. I already have over half a dozen people interested in the larger group, and if all goes to plan I have enough interested parties to fill the 6 strong group. Having been inundated with enquiries about shares in Apasionado after Thursday, if you would like to be involved in either of these syndicates then please let me know now, and I will put your name down. There is no obligation to join, but if I know that you are keen to join in the fun - I can buy the horses to fit the available budgets! 07909 518902 or nickbrownracing@gmail.com. Our record of buying winners speaks for itself - have a look - we provide great value and a great service!
