Friday 16 December

A busy day yesterday - Josh Moore in to school a couple first lot. Chandos Belle who is really pleasing everyone now, after her recent flat spell schooled up the baby chase fences and was very good - December 29th in Doncaster is very much on the cards. Josh also schooled Cloonacool over Fences and he was great. He has an entry in Ludlow next Wednesday, but it looks a very hot heat. He will run there, or in Kempton on the 27th. After breakfast we had two men in to see the new filly, both liked what they saw, one man enough to commit to her, we wait upon the other. The filly herself is a cracking prospect, and has done nothing but please since she has arrived at Fences Farm, and Stuart likes her a great deal, and Josh who rode her yesterday was also impressed. We will see how her ownership looks over the course of the next few days. Then it was off to Towcester where Stuart ran three. Paddy The Deejay travelled well for a long way, but faded in the home straight. Pine Warbler ran a really good race after a long break. He tries so very hard, as he isn't the most natural athlete. The track and trip suited him, and he will be out again on soft ground over hurdles. Molly Childers was the best chance of the day and ran an absolute cracker in defeat. She looked the stand out filly in the paddock, and behaved impeccably. Given a super ride by Cieran Gethings, she travelled really well, and looked likely to finish in any of the first 3 places at different times up the long hill home. In the closing stages she looked booked for third, but really battled back to finish a close second, beaten just a head. She will have learned a great deal from the experience, and the bumper only plan this season remains in place. She will be out again in mid Feb. All three seem fine after their afternoon exertions. Back to Fences Farm this morning to show Land League to Larry Fitch. Larry had a share in poor old Bold Conquest, and has taken a share in his replacement, who Stuart rode this morning. LL was sick when he arrived from Ireland, but the antibiotics are working, and it will not be long before he can start to do some proper work. He should be running in January. Plans have changed slightly for Pull Together, who will now bypass Huntingdon on Boxing Day and head to Warwick on New Years Eve. Can't wait to see him on the track! Two more folks in to see Land League tomorrow, I will shortly be cracking on with getting him sold, as he is now in a position to be getting on with things, so if you are interested in a share then have a look at him on the For Sale Page, and get in touch. 07909 518902 nickbrownracing@gmail.com
