Monday 6 February

Brett The Vet was in this morning to see a few horses, and to scope some as well. With regard to ours - Chandos Belle passed her scope - he has given her the go-ahead to run, either on Saturday in Uttoxeter or Monday in Plumpton, we will look at ground and opposition and decide on where she goes. Molly Childers scoped clean, and a blood sample has been sent to the lab for analysis to make sure she is 100% - we will talk to a few trainers with entries in the race in Huntingdon on Thursday, and decide if she goes there or heads to Fakenham next week. Apasionado scoped 100% clean and seems in fine form - looking forward to getting him back on track. Cloonacool scoped clean this morning, and like Molly, he had a blood sample taken, which will be analysed so that Stuart knows where he is heading with him. All in all a good result from the rounds, and we can look forward to seeing a few runners in the near future. Yesterday I put a share in new boy Tricky Silence up for lease on Facebook and Twitter, and to be honest - I was bowled over by folks wanting to take it. The share was actually taken up within 5 minutes of going on the sites - but it did get me thinking that perhaps this is an ownership option that needs exploring. We have always purchased our horses, and actually sold capital shares in them, but it does seem as though there are a lot of people out there who are interested in leasing shares. If this is the case please get in touch and I will get a horse for a new syndicate to lease. This will be for a fixed term, and will have a monthly cost of £25/week. There will be 25 members, and where the horse comes from will determine who trains. Please just email nickbrownracing@gmail.com if this is of interest, so that I can guage what sort of numbers we have at the moment.
