This morning Stuart and Brett The Vet did the rounds and scoped all of those horses that are doing two canters, and are ready to step on the gas a bit. Stuart has always done this, as he feels the right thing to do is to confirm that all the horses are 'clean' before he asks them to do anything more taxing. Horses are no different to us, and if we ask them to work hard when they are not feeling right up to scratch, then you will not get the best out of them, and it can set them back and cause other associated problems. This morning Molly Childers and Maria's Benefit were on the list, and I am pleased to report that both scoped clean and have the all clear to go a bit quicker this week. Stuart and I will have a chat about Molly Childers tomorrow - she could well make a trip down to Bourton On The Water, for a date with Ben Brain, so that he can have another look at her breathing. She was not perfect when she was such a good 5th in the Listed Bumper in Sandown, and it could just be the time to have a look at what is going on with her by giving her an overland scope. Kingsley is heading down to Bens later this week as he does need some work done, and she could well make the trip with him. I will be making plenty of trips to Fences Farm this week to welcome new owners, and potential new owners to see the facilities and meet Stuart and his excellent team. This weekend we had plenty of interest in Classic Ben, who like Molly and Maria will start to go a bit quicker this week, and he will have plenty of eyes cast over him over the next few days - Kaloci also found herself two new shareholders for the season - and we look forward to welcoming them to the yard on Friday!
