Sunday 24 September

A good morning at Fences Farm yesterday. The moment of truth for Cloonacool, after being under the weather for a couple of weeks, it was his last chance to prove his fitness ahead of his target race in Market Rasen next weekend. The clip shows all three horses that are being aimed at Market Rasen doing their final pieces of work. Land League (near side) works very well with Molly Childers with Cloonacool in behind. Cloonacool has earned his entry and will go to The Prelude along with Land League. Molly Childers will have an entry in The Mares Novice Hurdle. Kaloci did a swinging piece yesterday as well, and went really nicely. She seems in fantastic form and would only be 2-3 weeks off of a run. She will probably start off in a bumper. Classic Ben is also only 2-3 weeks off a run, and he can be seen (nearside front) in the second group up the gallop in the video clip. He is going very nicely, and looks a lovely prospect. Just 2 shares remain, although I am very confident that another one will be taken tomorrrow - if a certain someone finds what he needs!! Chandos Belle is in great heart, and will start to go a bit quicker very soon. Queenohearts is going very nicely as well. She is looking great and keeping her condition well - we have never seen her coat looking so good. Pull Together is cantering away, without a bother, as is Sneaking Budge! Maria's Benefit is back on somg, and her staples come out this week - the injury has held together very well. Pauls other horse Kingsley is back cantering after his wind op, he has had niggly problems with corns, and was a little sore on the afternoon of the Owners Day, and that is the reason he didn't parade! At the moment it would appear that the wind op has helped him a great deal. Two year old Sumu has returned to The Elms Stud, his new owners - Riverport Racehorse Association have decided to apply to change his name, and we will start that process next week along with getting their new colours registered. 'The horse currently named Sumu' will return to Fences Farm early in the new year. Apasionado continues his recuperation with plenty of time on the walker. Another high class recruit arrived last week - a 3 yr old Filly called Hillcrest Fire has joined Stuarts increasingly impressive team - of Listed Class on the flat she has many options open to her - but a hurdling career is the main aim this winter. We wish Jim her new owner the very best of luck!! It was good to see The Garratt Family in yesterday to see their horse Now McGinty do a cracking piece of work. He has changed so much since he arrived in the spring, and looks a very bright prospect from a very very good family.
