The final touches were applied to the preparation of the four horses that Stuart intends to take to Market Rasen on Saturday. Brendan Powell who will ride Land League, was in along with Ciaran Gethings, who I am pleased to report has made a full recovery from the nasty fall he took at uttoxeter a couple of weeks ago, and will ride Molly Childers on Saturday. This morning they gave all three of them a pop, and all three were very good indeed. Stuart was particularly pleased with Cloonacool who really has found his spark in the last week, and was skipping and bucking and acting the fool down the jumos field today. After chatting with Stuart he has decided to apply cheekpieces on Cloonacool on Saturday, just to help him travel on the first circuit. He was a little outpaced in the race early doors last year, and the cheekpieces should help him to travel. Paddy Brennan will hopefully ride, and therefore riding instructions will very much not be required, with Paddy usually doing what he thinks best anyway! Expect him to be held up! I will attack the badge scenario tomorrow, but if you have nit replied to let me know if you need badges or not - could you please text me and let me know, so that I can be armed with the info! Elsewhere - Ciaran got to ride Kaloci this morning, and she is in fine fettle. She will do a proper piece of work on Saturday - after which a plan can be made for her debut for us. Ciaran thinks give in the ground is very important, so we will have a good eye on the weather forecast and decide where she runs (probably in a bumoer), on the basis of where the rain has fallen!
