A frustrating time of year! Horses ready to run - a fortune spent on entries, and the ground drying up just when you don't want it to! Classic Ben is the latest victim - he did at least get a declaration - but he was a non runner this morning as the ground in Worcester has dried up to Good o Firm in places. I was hoping the rain forecast for Wales yesterday would creep across, and at least keep it Good ground, but it didn't, and we will have to be patient with him. He has an entry in Chepstow on Sunday - but again - we will have to see what the weather and ground do! On the flip side - Chandos Belle has her ideal conditions in Goodwood on Sunday, but will miss that as her recovery wasn't what Stuart expected after a good piece of work yesterday, and she would not be quite ready for Sunday. Instead she will work Saturday, and if he is happy with her after that, she could go to Leicester on Tuesday - if the ground is soft!! Kaloci will miss Newton Abbott tomorrow, as their ground is drying all the time - she too is in Chepstow. Maria's Benefit went very well yesterday, and is declared in Newton Abbott tomorrow. Sorry to everyone for the constant texts an emails etc - We are trying very hard to run them - but we are also very aware that it is the start of a long season, and we do not want it to end before it has begun. Horses can be a very long time out injured! Please bear with us!
