Queenohearts travelled to Chepstow today to make her racecourse debut in the concluding bumper. I purchased her on spec out of the Doncaster May Store Sale in 2016, and it has been a long road to the course for her. By quirk of fate, I was in Doncaster yesterday and today at their November sales so wasn't able to get to Chepstow to see her run. Her owners have had to be very patient with her as she is a big girl, who was in training for most of last winter, but Stuart was never happy with her, and in the end was forced to turn her away for another summer. It really seems to have done the trick, as although still on the weak side she ran a fine race to be fourth this afternoon. She behaved impeccably, and settled beautifully in the race itself - she ran a bit green up the straight but stayed on very nicely to take fourth, just under 4 lengths off of the winner. This was no egg and spoon race. I watched it in the bar in Doncaster with the man that purchased the winner for his new connections and he said they think a great deal of him - which bodes well for a bright future from our Queen. Ciaran was delighted with her, and said she would improve no end mentally for the experience. Also in Chepstow today was Now McGinty who ran a cracker of a race in the maiden hurdle to be third. he jumped really well, and was given a peach of a ride by Ciaran. He is another smashing prospect for the Fences Farm team. Pull Together - another who has taken an age to get to the racecourse is an intended runner in Fontwell on Friday - and Classic Ben and Maria's Benefit will head to Sandown on Sunday.
