Saturday 18 November
I headed to Cheltenham on Thursday to have a sneak preview of the sales horses that were sold after racing on Friday. A mixture - but all in all a nice bunch. On Friday morning it was back early to n even shorter list - which ended up being 4 strong. A really entertaining day at the races was followed by a frustrating evening around the sale ring where we did't even get to bid to two of our targets, and despite exercising the bidding finger for one - it ended up flying past us. You know you are in trouble when folks are throwing around £300,000 opening bids for Irish Point To Pointers!! We were back at the races today - a soggy day, but good racing - a superb juvenile performance from Apples Shakira, nice to see another top class horse by the late Saddler Maker. Young Tom Bellamy winning the big one was good to see. Tomorrow we are back at the sports. Back at home, Kaloci is still a bit sore after hurting herself in her stable last week - she is improving day by day. Sneaking Budge is on course for Leicester on Monday. He has been in great form at home, and will hopefully repay his owners patience. Land League has entries in Fakenham on Tuesday in a chase, and Warwick on Wednesday in a hurdle. He is likely to go to Fakenham on Tuesday. Molly Childers is in fine form and will make her handicap debut in Market Rasen on Thursday. Pull Together worked well this morning, and will have an entry in a novice or maiden hurdle in the next few days. Classic Ben is also in good heart, and although the thought straight after his sandown bumper was to go hurdling, we may give him another run in a bumper sometime in December - we will look at the programme book and decide. Cloonacool is in good form after his wind op, and we will soon be able to look for a race for him. Chandos Belle is still still not 100% behind after her Fakenham run. The vet will look at her agin next week, when he will decide on a course of action - at this stage it doesn't look serious, and she should be back on the road again very soon.
