I am quick to criticise courses, when they are less than helpful when it comes to catering for syndicates - but also speedy to praise those that make the ownership experience all the better for syndicate members. Newbury on Saturday definitely fall in the latter category. With a big NBR turn out to see Kaloci in the Grade 2 Mares Novices' Handicap Hurdle I was expecting to have a spot of bother getting everything sorted for all of them. I need not have fret - Newbury kindly were able to provide not just one, but two hospitality boxes, on the fourth floor of the Berkshire Stand, overlooking the finishing line. It was a super spot, and all those attending were furnished with Owners badges as well - so top marks to Newbury and the team there! Kaloci found the step up in grade a bit too much. She wasn't helped by being stuck on the inner, and a line can be drawn through the run. She is capable of winning off of her mark, but probably not in that grade. She has come out of her race well, and we will keep an open mind as to whether she runs again this season or not, She herself, the ground and Stuart will determine that. Pull Together is entered eveywhere it seems, but will skip Warwick and Towcester, could go to Wincanton if the race cuts up, and has entries in Plumpton on Sunday. Classic Ben has an entry in The Challenger Stayers Hurdle Final in Haydock on Saturday, in which he will sport cheekpieces, Hopefully Haydock don't get too much rain!
