Thursday 13 September

A beautiful morning started at Fences Farm - the sun shining through the trees, and the mist in the valley - just glorious! A big lot out First Lot including Getaway Mixie, kaloci and Pull Together - 2 canters for all, and Ciaran rode Getwaway Mixie, and really liked her - as he said - hard to believe she was nearly dead just a few months ago! Kaloci and Pull Together really moving well - a few weeks behind the others as they need soft ground, but they are looking great! Second lot Stuart got a very short schooling session in - the ground is still pretty quick, but a few jumped a couple. Classic Ben looked a real natural, popping a plain fence and the open ditch just once. He has matured into the most gorgeous horse, and judging on this mornings session, he will have a lovely future as a chaser! We then all jumped in the cars and headed off to Warwick where Molly Childers had a school on their new, watered schooling lane. Down in the, now unused 5 furlong chute, they have erected 3 plain fences, and a few flights of hurdles, which gives trainers a great chance to school their horses on turf while the ground at home is on the quick side. Molly schooled over the chase fences, and was excellent, she had a good look at the first, and gave it plenty of height, but soon learned, and was excellent over the next 8. Classic Ben will get a go there next week, and there is no reason that Molly cant go again before she runs next month.
