Saturday 15 November

A bright morning for some of us this morning, but certainly not others (Stu) who was looking like ' death not even slightly warmed up'!! A late night for him at an Oakley Hunt function meant some bleary eyes and a thumping head. We left the yard before first lot had come back in, but Mrs Robeson reported that E Major when very well.We should see him out in 2-3 weeks (I know what your thinking Phil)! Ogees race was a hot one, and trying to give weight away to this field was going to be very tough, and Ogee ran probably his best race to date to finish second behind Cape Tribulation, who readers of this site will know is a horse of immense talent, and related to Rousing Rob. Ogee ran to a very high mark and we will wait to see what the handicapper makes of things. Alice phoned during the day to say that Important Business had trotted up sound after his run yesterday, and will now have a rest, and we will see how he is in 3 weeks, as he is once again very tired.Kikos went well and will be entered for Huntingdon on Saturday, and Matty went well ahead of his run on Monday. Bobby Gee breezed well ahead of his run at Cheltenham tomorrow. Tonight we were at The Farmers Ball in Bedford, and had a wonderful night meeting up with folks that we had not seen for years. Another long and enjoyable day ended up with us rolling in at 2.am, tomorrow may be a struggle!!
