And She Was

The latest addition to our National Hunt team is this lovely young filly And She was, by Lindas Lad  out of a two times winning mare Samandara.

Her sire, Lindas Lad was a Group 1 winner on the flat in France at 2 and went on to be a high-class campaigner over middle distances at 3 and 4.

Her dam, Samandara was a dual winner in her native France, and was placed a further 6 times. She was owned and bred by HH The Aga Khan, from one of his very best families. Samandara went on to breed 6 winners on the track, and a further point to point winner from the 8 foals that raced, so she has a terrific record of producing winners. This filly was her final foal.

Among her 7 winning sons and daughters are two Black Type performers, Warriors Tale who achieved a BHA rating of 150 and was the winner of 7 of his 36 races including the Grand Sefton Handicap Chase over the Grand National Fences in Aintree. Another of her daughters, Flying Sara won her first two bumpers before finishing a close second in a Listed Bumper in Cheltenham on her third start. Samandara is also bred Legendara, a point-to-point winner who has bred the highly regarded The Kemble Brewery.

This is a family stacked full of winners – and judged on this filly’s looks and athletic walk – she can be another winner in the pedigree.

And She Was is a 3 yr old and is in training with Alan King who trains just south of Swindon at one of the best yards in the country at Barbury Castle. Alan needs no introduction – he has won just about every big race in the National Hunt Calendar, and now trains a mixed team of jumpers and flat horses from his Barbury Castle Stables.

Alan already has a plan in place for the filly – she is being broken in at the moment, and he is looking to drive straight on with her and run her in junior bumpers and national hunt juvenile hurdles this season – starting her off in November.

As she was bred in the UK, by a British based stallion, she qualifies for 100% of the GBB bonuses that are on offer for fillies that win bumpers and novice hurdles in the UK. Winners of bumpers receive a £10,000 bonus, and winners of novice hurdles receive a £20,000 bonus on top of the winner’s prize money. The number of bonuses a filly can win are not limited, and a few have won multiple Bonus races, racking up quite a prize pot in the process.

The fact that she qualifies for these races makes her a very attractive proposition, and we are delighted to have the chance to syndicate her.

Her syndicate will be made up of 25 members – each having an equal 4 % lease hold interest

Each member will be entitled to 1 Owners Badge each time she runs and will receive 100% of their share (4%) of all net owner’s prize money and 50% of the owners share of bonus prize money won.

Ther is no capital cost – and each member will pay just £130/month to cover their share of her training/keep costs. This is an all-inclusive fee, and no extra funds will ever be requested by Nick Brown Racing.

THERE ARE NOW JUST 5 OF THE 25 SHARES REMAINING!! BE QUICK!!

The initial term of the lease is 12 months – commencing on July 1st, 2024, though to June 30, 2025. There will be an option to extend for a second 12-month term.

Should the filly not live up to expectations, the Lease Agreement between her owner and Nick Brown Racing can be terminated at any stage during the initial term but cannot be terminated by the owner – meaning that you are not tied into paying for an underperforming horse for 12 months but are also protected from having a very good horse reclaimed by her owners during the period.

I have been syndicating racehorses for 25 years and we have enjoyed success at the very highest level and at the biggest meetings – we believe in offering an open, honest experience for all of our syndicate members, with excellent communication at the very heart of what we do.

Each member will be added to the syndicate Whatsapp Group, where all the updates, pictures and videos will be posted. When she is in full work there will be twice weekly video updates from Alan, showing her work, and giving you his thoughts on her progress.

Each member will receive a written race report by email after each run, this way every member has access to all the thoughts of the jockey, trainer and syndicate manager, and everyone is on the same page at all times.

I believe that this filly represents a fantastic chance to get involved in a beautifully bred individual right from the start of her career and have the chance to run for some hugely inflated prize funds at the start of her career. In effect, every bumper she runs in will be worth a total of at least £12,000 to the winning horse, and each hurdle race a huge £23,000 minimum. It makes a lot of sense to get involved!
