Wednesday 28 April
It seems like a lifetime since we last entered Mattaking in a race, but the good news is that today he gets his first entry since January 09.The bad news is that we are entering him in a race for which he is unlikely to qualify, which sound strange, but we could not get in touch with the handicapper yesterday to see how he now rates him, and as it was free to enter at Fakenham we thought we would just put him in and see if he drops him enough to sneak in under the ceiling of 90. It is a long shot but nothing will be lost if we do not get in as he will be entered for 2 races at Huntingdon next Wednesday. He has been working very very well over the last couple of weeks, and really looks to have a different outlook on life so hopefully he will be back winning again soon. A pleasure to show Howard Cooke around Fences Farm (and the pub) last night, and we all welcome him, as he takes his first (hopefully successful) steps into racehorse ownership. Good Luck Howard.
