Saturday 27 November

A light dusting of snow this morning, but thankfully not enough to cause any problems. I really do feel sorry for anyone that works with racehorses when there is snow on the ground, as an already difficult job gets 10 times harder! It was bloody cold first lot, but good to see this weeks winner Bobby Gee out having a canter with his 'not so little' brother 'Grey Bobby'. GB is going very nicely, and this morning was the first time I have seen him move - I was very impressed. He has size and scope, and looks very athletic in his paces - the dream has started!! Second lot Omaruru, Robo and Sunday Sharpner all did a good piece of work.SS probably doing as good a piece as I have seen from him to date. It was good to see Michael and Fiona Kehoe over third lot - they worked 4 horses who all went very well - on this evidence they will be having a fun season! I was glad to get home in time to see this afternoons racing from Newbury. Well done to them for getting the meeting on, and well done to the powers that be to transfer the Fighting Fifth. I thought Peddlars Cross was outstanding, but he will have to go some to stay in front of Binocular in March, and well done to Diamond Harry in the Hennessey, from my chair he looked a far stronger and complete horse this year, and will obviously be a force to be reckoned with in the staying chase division!
