Tuesday 11 December

-7 out there this morning - it is what you might say -'a little fresh'!! I am glad to be tucked up in a warm office, but spare a thought for the staff at Fences Farm who are out there in this to look after our horses and provide us with the sport we love! Alice has already tweeted this morning that getting ready for work was like preparing for a polar expedition!! As you know at the weekend Fences Farm had a massive slice of bad luck when Justazippy took a crashing fall at the last when coming with, what looked like a winning run up the Sandown hill. Thankfully she seems fine after her tumble and went out on exercise as normal yesterday. Unfortunately (but unsurprisingly) the handicapper thought she would have gone close as well, and has raised her 3lbs for her efforts. Nothing like kicking a girl when she is down! The rest of the horses seem in good order - we just need the temperatures to rise, which it looks like doing on Thursday night/Friday. The longer range forecast predicts temperatures to stay above freezing on the run up to Christmas, so hopefully all the plans highlighted yesterday will come to fruition!
