Friday 22 November
Smart Exit is declared in the Cambridgeshire National tomorrow, with Josh Moore in the saddle. In the early lists he has been put in as the 5/2 favourite. Josh has ridden him once and won on him once, and his 3lb allowance in this ground and over this trip will be invaluable!! Hopefully we will have a good day, SE is in good form. Pictured right is Lucy McGarity with San Telm. Lucy is a McTimoney Animal Practitioner, who specialise in restoring joint mobility in horses by careful massage and manipulation of the attached muscles. Lucy was in to give ST a few tweaks and pulls to loosen up some tight spots, and will return next week for part 2. Benefit Cut is now back sound and was ridden for the first time for a few days today. He will have further treatment in 10 days, after which it should be OK to crack on with him again. Omaruru is still OK and went for a quiet hack around the farm today. Colebrooke is in grand old form, and we have found some races around the 15 December that should suit him. Maypole Lass seems to have really enjoyed her hurdling debut, and she is much more 'awake' than before she ran - she is still on target for the Listed Fillies Juvenile in Aintree in a fortnight. Guest Of Honour and Genny Wren are both intended runners in Ludlow on Monday. If Smart Exit wins tomorrow we are thinking of parading him outside the local - that's what happens if you win a National isn't it????
