Thursday 26 February

It has been one of those mornings! And as usual when things don't go to plan - the fellow at the centre of it all is Dawn Commander! This morning, our resident loony tune unceremoniously dumped poor Megan to the turf (which takes some doing) and headed for home. On arrival in the yard (minus jockey) he seems to have slipped on the concrete and given himself a few cuts and bruises - the vet was in within the hour to stitch him up and put him back together again!! This horse goes down into the bracket as serial self harmer, but thankfully, unlike the last time when he decided to do himself mischief, todays episode will should only result in him being off games for a few days, and as we were well ahead of schedule in his Aintree preparation it shouldn't make too much difference! Although we have rain this morning, the ground in Doncaster is Good, which will suit both horses entered there on Saturday. The quicker ground could well mean that both races will cut up, as plenty of the entered runners seem to have a distinct preference for soft or heavy conditions. With luck, both will go, and both will run well! Jockey bookings will be finalised later today/tomorrow. We have a few folks in tomorrow to cast their eye over Bold Conquest - shares are selling very nicely, as plenty of existing owners have worked out, that as they have a share in Cloonacool, who will run from October through until April, a share in Bold Conquest, who will run from March until October, means that they get all year round racing!! How good is that!! Please have a look at him on our For Sale Page - he is a very athletic individual with a great outlook, and the form of his last run is very very good. He is outstanding value!! Please call on 07909 518902, or email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk to join in with the fun!!
