Thursday 18 August
We were looking at a couple of horses at the Tattersalls Ireland, Ascot sales earlier in the week for a new 25 man syndicate, but both were found not to be suitable for us. It is a tad frustrating that we can't get what we want at the moment, but the one thing we have learned over the years when it comes to buying - is patience! A piece of advice that the late Mrs Robeson gave me, and that I shall never forget is that lots of money never bought the right horse - the right money at the right time will always get you what you want! For this reason we are very selective in what we purchase. we go through the form and pedigree very carefully, and employ the best of men when it comes to selection based on conformation etc. I enquired after a private deal earlier this week, only to be knocked back again, and will pour through the Goffs UK catalogue for their September sale.
