Monday 5 December
The form of Apasionado's Huntingdon run continues to look better day by day. He plainly didn't stay when upped to 2m 4f last Friday, and so we keep the option of a run in Ascot on December 16th open. He will get a better gallop, and the trip of 2 miles is evidently spot on. He does not get the chance to run in these races again, as they are only open to novices, so while he is well, and if the ground does not get too soft, we will keep it as an option. If for whatever reason he doesn't go to Ascot, he will have a mid season break. Molly Childers is in fine form, and has come out of her Doncaster run in a much sharper mood! She has options of three mares bumpers, at Towcester, Hereford and Bangor on the 15th, 19th and 22nd - with Hereford looking like the favoured option if the ground is suitable. Sneaking Budge is nearly back to full work, and Stuart will guage his fitness when he can test it out, after which we can look for races for him. Pull Together will work tomorrow, after which we will know a timescale to look for a race for him. Cloonacool needs a couple more bits of work, and will have entries in both hurdles and fences from the 18th. The 2 most likely options being a chase in Ludlow on the 21st, or the 2m hurdle he won in Kempton on the 27th. Chandos Belle is back on song, and a lot brighter than she was on her return from 'Hell Wednesday'. Stuart will step her up for a crack at the filles maiden juvenile hurdle in Doncaster on December 29th. If she continues to go forward she will run there, but if at any stage she loses her sparkle again she will have to have a proper break. Pull Together is close to making his debut, Stuart will know more later this week. All of the 3 yr olds are going really well. 'Frankie', the Flemensfirth filly is going sweetly now, she certainly has attitude, and knows her own mind, but she is going forward nicely and going about her business well. 'Alan' the Kalanisi 3 yr old of Paul Wells is very nicely balanced and moves nicely - as does Ben Turners Top Garry. Stuart is delighted with all of them. At this stage it all looks bright for all three. New boy Land League is a lovely horse - he has come with a bit of a cold, so Stuart is not going too strong with him, but he likes what he sees - he is a fine big good looking horse, that moves really well. He will run through the rest of the winter, and will hopefully be out around Christmas, but he will be better suited by some spring/summer ground - and will be a good fun horse when the better weather arrives! nickbrownracing@gmail.com to reserve your place in the syndicate that own him.
