The vet was in this morning to laser Sneaking Budges leg. He is using this technique to speed up the healing process, and try to assist in the dissipation of the fluid that has been holding him up. He is very happy with SB's progress and has given Stuart the go ahead to start cantering him again. Good news, and hopefully we are back on track with him again. After chatting with Stuart, and looking at all the relevant factors - Cloonacool will head to Kempton on December 27th, for the handicap hurdle he won a couple of years ago. Although we are all keen to get going over fences again, as he probably jumps a fence better than a hurdle, there are a number of very sound reasons for choosing Kempton. His lower mark over hurdles being a big one, the likelihood of meeting a seemingly very well handicapped horse in Cepage in Ludlow, and the fact that we know the track and trip suits. Cloonacool has benefitted from a short break, and worked really well on Saturday, so we are looking forward to getting him out again. It was good to see a few folks on Saturday evening for the Fences Farm Christmas drinks party, a good night was had by all, although some felt better than others at he end of the night!! It was nice to be able to buy the team a drink and say thank you for their hard work during the year!! A few quiet days now before Christmas, but I will be over at the yard on Saturday morning as usual if anyone would like to come over and see their horses before the holidays. It will be an interesting morning, as it will be the first faster piece of work we will see from Land League, and I am looking forward to seeing how he shapes up. He has been fairly sick since he arrived, but is now back on song, and with everyone who has ridden him saying what a nice horse he is, I can't wait to see him stride on! After Christmas it will be a busy few days with Cloonacool on the 27th, Chandos Belle on the 29th, and Pull Together on the 31st. We like having runners over the Christmas period, so it's good to be able to get so many of them out on the track.
