What better way to get over the disappointment of Molly Childers (or as someone has christened her Wally Childers) wayward antics on Friday, than watching some super pieces of work yesterday, and then spend an afternoon in very good company at Huntingdon Rugby Club! Hardly feeling refreshed this morning, but at least I didn't have to host a quiz later in the evening like Matt Griggs!! (Apasionado, Sneaking Budge/Tricky Silence, Chandos Belle). It was in the clubhouse at Huntingdon that I watched Sweetlittlemystery win the mares bumper in Ascot. She had just held a rallying Molly Childers in Towcester, and this was proof - if needed that Molly is a smart mare. We have not lost faith in Molly - she is very good - just need to iron out her kinks! She still heads to Sandown on March 11th. Yesterday morning it was a flying visit to Fences Farm. Apasionado had worked very well first lot, and will take up one of his engagements this week. Second lot saw three separate pieces of work.
Up front, Maria's Benefit looked great bowling along ahead of Ereyna. The next three up were, Pine Warbler, with his half sister Grey Warbler with Tricky Silence tucked in behind. TS looks a lovely prospect as you can see. he is athletic, with a big stride, and Jo, who rode him yesterday was very impressed with him. Maria's and Tricky's work yesterday has earned them an entry in Warwick on Friday. Both would need a drying week, as neither would want soft ground. If the ground is soft there - it would suit Grey Warbler, who also has an entry in the bumper. Last pair up were led by Kingsley who continues to very much go the right way, and is pleasing everyone who sits on him. As you can see he is a gorgeous mover, and does everything very easily. The other youngsters, Top Gary, and Queenohearts (Not yet named officially) are having an easier time of things just at the moment. Also having an easier time of it is Cloonacool, but if the results of an imminent blood test are favourable, he will be steeping up a gear or two soon. Just before I left it was good to see Vic and Kath, who popped in to see their girl Chandos Belle. CB is in good heart, along with last weeks other runner Land League, who cantered third lot.
