Sunday 12 March

We saw Molly yesterday in Sandown - not the Wally we saw in her last appearance in Fakenham! On a fine, bright, spring like afternoon, Molly Childers ran a cracking race to be fifth in a red hot renewal of the mares Listed Bumper. She travelled well, and was slightly squeezed up going for a run up the inside, although I don't think it made any difference to the finishing positions. Ciaran Gethings gave her a fantastic ride, and we are all pleased as punch with her run. She will now be let down gently, and be popped over a few hurdles in a few days time before heading off for a couple of months well earned rest - and we can dream of her over hurdles next season. She is a super mare, and will be very exciting over obstacles next season. Tomorrow, Chandos Belle heads to Stratford for the first race of their season. She is in good heart, and goes there with a trouble free prep, which has not been the case recently. She has every chance on ratings and hopefully this tough hardy filly can get her head in front. Apasionado has been left in the County Hurdle in Cheltenham on Friday, he will be declared, and if he gets in he will run, although that looks doubtful as he is 51 on the list and only 24 can run. If he doesn't go to Cheltenham he will go to Kempton on Saturday 18th. Maria's Benefit who worked well behind Apasionado yesterday has an entry in Huntingdon on Wednesday, and will also have an entry in Kempton on Saturday.
