Mr Edmunds is rapidly being recognised as a man with a magic touch with mares! With Maria's Benefit leading the charge this year - he has also gained black type for 3 of the 4 mares that we set out get it with at the start of the season. Kaloci gained it with her third in a Listed Bumper in Huntingdon in December, and on Saturday, Queenohearts battled up the Sandown home straight to win their Listed Bumper by a neck - showing in the process what a talented tough mare she is! The Oakley Partnership were all there to see her run, and were all thrilled in the winners enclosure! Their patience has been rewarded QOH was in training all last season, but the big mare was just too immature to train, and in the end she was turned out for the summer without making her debut. At the start of this seaon she was still big and a little on the weak side, but she made her debut in a very hot Cepstow bumper finishing a very good fourth, on her first go on turf. She then went on to win her bumper in Towcester in December, and before she was back to the winners enclosure we had already decided to head to Sandown - so the owners were going to have to wait again! Produced perfectly on the day by Stuart, she was once again worth the wait! A great ride from Ciaran. QOH has come out of the race in good form, and we will make a decision if she runs again this season in a few weeks time - she is the sort of mare that may benefit from a light campaign, and she may have run her last race for the season - Aintree is definitely out, and her only other realistic option is Punchestown. NM was bought for The Garratt Family last year, and after showing good form in his maiden hurdle, he lost his way a little - cheekpieces have helped him, and yesterday he ran out a 7 length winner. Congratulations to all the Garratts - he could go in again now that he has got his head in front! We headed to Market Rasen with Molly Childers. Stepped up to nearly 3 miles for the first time, we fancied her to run well, but she got stuck in the very soft ground, and could only manage a staying on 6th, after being nearly bought down on the home turn. She ran right to the line, and will be going very close when she encounters better ground. She is a lovely mare! All three horses seem fine this morning.
