Cloud Dancer

Cloud Dancer

By Jukebox Jury out of Donna Graciosa

Due to a change of circumstances for one of his owners, a single 1/12 share has become available in Cloud Dancer.

This young horse is already a winner form just 2 starts, winning on hurdling debut in Newbury in March, and the manner of that victory suggests that he has a very bright future ahead of him. He jumped beautifully, and when the penny finally dropped after the last he won going away in the style of a nice horse. The second that day has gone on to win subsequently, giving the form some depth.

Cloud Dancer has always been held in high regard by Gary Moore - so much so that he made his debut in a Listed bumper in Cheltenham, where he ran very very green, but still finished in mid division of what was a strong heat.

In winning his National Hunt Juvenile hurdle in Newbury, it means that he remains a novice for the 2023/24 season, and will be well suited to those races at around the 2m4f mark.

Jukebox Jury is a stallion that is certainly going places – he has sired a Group 1 winner on the flat in Princess Zoe and a Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winner in Farclas. His stock is very sought after at the store sales!

His dam is a 4x winning daughter of Samum – she won 4 races on the flat for Mark Johnson from 1m 2f up to 1m 5f. She is a good-looking mare – who showed a wonderfully tough and tenacious attitude in her races. She reached a BHA rating of 79. She is also a full sister to the Group 1 winner Durban Thunder who was a durable, top-class middle-distance performer in his native Germany. She is also the half sister to the dam of German Group 1 performer Di Caprio.

Cloud Dancer is trained by Gary Moore, a trainer that does so well with this type of horse. The Moore family are the hardest working family in racing and do really well with the horses in their care. Last season they broke the £1.25m in prizemoney barrier, sending out winners at a very impressive 18% strike rate. Gary excels with this type of horse, and he really likes him. After his winn it was decided that Cloud dancer would benefit from a break, and he went back to Jason Maguire's Ivy lodge Farm where he is currently enjoying his summer holiday.
